Mexico: Republic Mint Error - Double-Struck Off-Center 8 Reales ND AU55 NGC, Culiacan mint, KM377.3. Second strike off-center. Lustrous and nearly uncirculated, with a prominent off-center second strike that has drastically elongated the flan toward 6 o’clock. A scarce and unique mint error.

Mexico: Republic Mint Error - Double-Struck Off-Center 8 Reales 1893 Do-ND VF30 NGC, Durango mint, KM377.4, DP-Do84. Double-struck with second strike off-center. A fascinating double-struck issue exhibiting a cameo-like contrast between the toned fields and lighter raised devices. Slightly glossy with hints of blue in the fields, and very scarce as an error type.

Canada: Elizabeth II Mint Error - Cent Struck On 1976 Dime 1978 MS64 NGC, Royal Canadian mint, cf. KM592. A "silver” colored cent, the result of a being incorrectly struck on a 1976 dime. As is indicated on the insert, the undertype date is visible, located perpendicular to the intended date on the reverse.

The reverse design has been fully impressed in incuse form into the true obverse, which in conjunction with the lustrous fields results in superb aesthetic appeal! Even the actual reverse shows minimal wear and sharp detail, making this example a wonderfully balanced brockage specimen.

A delightful Mint State error with an immensely attractive patina and pullaway tone throughout the legends and around the front of Victoria’s bust. Less than two years ago we sold a similar error graded several points lower, at MS61, for $850 hammer.

Ireland: James II Mint Error - Off-Center Strike Limerick Siege 1/2 Penny 1691 VG08 ANACS, KM108, SCBC-6594. A clearly botched attempt to overstrike the Limerick siege 1/2 penny design on top of an older "gunmoney” shilling, which was the undertype for the 1/2 penny issues. The result is an interesting hybrid between the two types: half gunmoney shilling, half siege halfpenny. Glossy surfaces with traces of sky blue iridescence.

The few past auction results available show this type regularly exceeding $1,000, but none of these have been certified. At MS69, this example is in the elite of what is available for the issue.
