Ever since I purchased a computer a few years ago and spotted my first clad missing state quarter I decided I had to start a collection of these coins. I decided to collect only the reverse side because of the various artistic designs on each one. I also have each coin slabbed and graded by PCGS for uniformity. Since I got a digital camera its been a challenge to photograph each coin to show all the detail and color. As more and more of the state quarters are being produced I realize just how scarce these errors have become, especially the earlier ones.
While scouting the auctions for clad missings layers, I've become interested in partial clad missing state quarters also. These errors are specifically caused by defects in the sheet-metal rolls. As more people have become interested in these clad missing errors, the prices have increase dramatically. I'm always looking for that bargain coin!!
These are the states I'm still searching for: PA, TN, OH, LA, MS, IL.
