Examples are also known on smaller cent sized copper-nickel planchets (usually South or Central American 5 centavo planchets). The most interesting of these is the 1891 2.9 grams 86.9% copper and 13.1 % nickel as NGC63 piece sold in Heritage 1/07 for $2300, now in Fred Weinberg FPL as PCGS63. It was likely struck on the same planchet stock as used on so-called pattern Judd 1758 !!

Off-Metal Standing Liberty Quarters

On cent planchet 1917 2 reported by Taxay, Lighterman undated example stolen in 2001 and recovered in 2009 has same die breaks as next !!
Note: 1928 P, D or S ex Heritage 1/04 as raw AU53, Heritage 6/04 as SEGS63 (not sold in either sale) – reverse shows die break not known on any silver example so probably counterfeit. Cline also owns the 50% off-center on struck cent which appears in Taxay. It did not look real to me. Fred Weinberg says it is a fake.

On quarters-at least 10 known, dates seen include 1941, 42, 43 and 44, 2 of each and at least one known showing no date Byers – PCGS63 to Mike Byers and also one no date s-mint double struck 50% off-center . Kosoff’s toned example has since been dipped
1943-S on Peru ½ sol – ANR/Stacks 11/06 (this was accompanied by 2 double struck walkers !!) to NE Numismatics, Heritage 1/08 with the other 2.
